Carabinieri operation in Siniscola: hunt for the authors of the arson attacks
The day after the demonstration in the square, several searches and checks were carried out, including a helicopter.A few hours after the large demonstration in the square, first an extraordinary city council and then a torchlight procession, in Siniscola this morning the Carabinieri carried out an operation. The military carried out several searches and checks. A helicopter was also in action.
The outcome of the raid is yet to be known, but in recent days the massive presence of law enforcement has been felt in the country, committed to giving a name and a face to those who, over the last thirteen months, have carried out the very long chain of arson and dynamite attacks .
The demonstration yesterday evening was attended, among others , by the president of the region Alessandra Todde, the parliamentarians Pietro Pittalis and Emiliano Fenu, the mayors of the neighboring municipalities, the regional councilors Sebastian Cocco and Franco Mula and the president of the Anci Sardegna and mayor of Fonni Daniela Falconi. The mayor of Siniscola Gina Luigi Farris was satisfied with the response of the country and the institutions but, she remarked, «now I expect answers from the state».
