Cala Mariolu: A young hiker gets lost on a trail and is rescued by helicopter.

A 21-year-old hiker who had lost her way near Cala Mariolu and found herself stuck in a rugged area of the rock face was rescued this afternoon.

The intervention was coordinated by the Nuoro fire department, which activated the Drago 143 helicopter crew from the Sardinia Fire Brigade's flight unit . Team 11A from the Tortoli detachment was also present.

The young woman was located thanks to a flight over the area and reached by winch. Once recovered, she was handed over to medical personnel for first aid. Her condition is good: she only suffered a few scratches and a great fright, but no serious injuries .
