Degradation reigns supreme on Via dell'Agricoltura, on the border between Cagliari and Elmas: mountains of discarded waste, exploitation of prostitution, a canal that struggles to drain due to overgrown vegetation and accumulated garbage. Not to mention the appalling condition of the road surface and the danger posed by constant fires during the summer.
"They've abandoned us," several street workers complain in unison. "We've sent hundreds of reports over the years, but the situation shows no signs of improving." There's no shortage of rats, coypus, and foul odors. "We don't know who to turn to anymore," they continue. "It's not just a matter of decorum, but above all, a real danger for people like us who work there, and for our customers."
