The Guardia di Finanza of Cagliari has recovered approximately 330,000 euros from 79 foreign air taxi companies that failed to pay taxes for passengers in transit to and from Cagliari-Elmas airport.

The control activity focused on a specific niche of air transport, namely non-scheduled flights operated by small and medium-sized aircraft, often used by entrepreneurs and tourists to avoid long waits at airports and travel in greater comfort.

The Guardia di Finanza has ascertained that in the two-year period 2020-2021, in light of the 432 flights carried out and 1,981 passengers transported, foreign companies have not paid the tax amounting to 253,100 euros.

For each flight departing or arriving in Italy, each passenger must pay a tax: 100 euros for flights under 1,500 kilometers and 200 euros for longer distances.

The inspection activity thus allowed us to sanction a total of 79 foreign carriers for 75,930 and recover the tax due and not paid.
