"We were attacked by Arpas employees". The serious accusation comes from the regional secretary of Uil Fpl, Giampaolo Spanu, who wrote to the heads of the Region, from President Todde on down, and to all the group leaders of the Regional Council. And he points the finger: "It's all the fault of the Cgil". The immediate reply: "Statements that qualify those who make them"
Yesterday, Wednesday 4 December, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Department of Personnel: the employees of the Environmental Protection Agency are asking for the application of the contract of the Region's sector and not that of Health, to which they are currently tied. Under the building there was a picket of workers, who have been waiting for the turning point for three years.
"My secretary colleague Paolo Mulè and I," Spanu says, "were the object of a violent attack, bordering on physical confrontation, by Arpas employees." According to the story, the two were leaving the building after the meeting with Coran "and when it was time to get the car, about forty troublemakers entered the parking lot: they started threatening and insulting us, trying to provoke a physical confrontation."
Spanu speaks of "such violence that we were forced to lock ourselves in the car, besieged by these people who continued to insult, threaten and provoke, preventing us from moving. We were therefore forced to call 113 and ask for the intervention of the police, who arrived after about half an hour". The incident ended "after forty minutes of siege and substantial "kidnapping".
Something like this, the unionist emphasizes, "had never happened in the history of union activity in the Region-Regional Entities sector. The moral responsibility, apart from the personal ones of those who materially did things", is the frontal attack, "is of the secretary of the Cgil Fp, who called a meeting of members and supporters of Arpas under the headquarters of the department, creating the conditions for what happened to happen".
The one called into question is Roberta Gessa, general secretary of FP Cgil Sardinia: «Certain declarations qualify those who make them» , she begins, contacted by telephone: «Spanu decided not to sign an expected agreement», continues the unionist, «and left before the end of the meeting. Down there, waiting to understand how it would end, with a meeting underway called after three years, there was a picket of workers with two trumpets, a whistle and a banner. Far from being troublemakers».
And about his alleged moral responsibility? "I am evaluating," Gessa announces, "whether to protect myself and the union I represent in other places."
