Crowbar in hand, one hooded and the other not , they tried to force the parking payment column in via Gianturco , on the corner with via Pessina, in Cagliari.

But their movements did not go unnoticed: someone called 112. Someone else (maybe the same person) collected evidence of the crime, filming step by step what the two, a forty-one year old and a forty-eight year old from Cagliari, were up to during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The recorded images are merciless: without much skill the two try to open the box where the money paid to Apcoa by motorists is kept.

They rush, they strain. But the action is not lightning-fast. On the contrary. The thieves tinker for a long time, until the street and the buildings are illuminated by the flashing lights of two carabinieri cars.

Caught red-handed (not even, they didn't manage to force it) the two try to escape towards via De Gioannis. One changes his mind and goes back, still running. But he trips and falls heavily to the ground . And here he is stopped by the men of the first crew. The other ends up in handcuffs a few meters ahead, stopped by the other carabinieri.
