A nightmare that lasted thirty-seven minutes.
This is the time that about seventy students spent inside an Arst bus without being able to get off. It happened on Saturday morning.
The coach was the one that traveled from Oristano towards Torre Grande but passing through Cabras . When the driver arrived in the lagoon town, he parked the vehicle at the first stop in via Rossini without however opening the doors of the vehicle. Initially the students thought it was a fault in the doors. After twenty minutes trapped inside the bus, the students started calling their parents who arrived at the bus stop after a few minutes.
There were also many people on the bus who were heading from Oristano to the sea. However, the heat was so much that in the end some boys, for fear of getting sick, opened the emergency doors to go outside.
Explains what happened Sandro Demurtas , head of the Oristano office of Arst: «At about ten past one we received a call from the police informing us of the presence of a stolen cell phone in an Arst vehicle, the one that was headed to Torre Big but that passed first in Cabras. So it appeared from the GPS. At that point, as communicated by the police, we contacted the driver telling him that he had an obligation to stop at the first useful stop because a police patrol would arrive for a check. Unfortunately, however, the patrol did not arrive and in the meantime the boys remained inside the bus without being able to get off. At that point we contacted the police again to understand why the patrol still hadn't reached the vehicle. At that juncture, however, they informed us that the cell phone had already been found and that the driver could therefore take it back without problems".
