«The planning of a regional sea rescue plan is strategic, within which a risk mapping is developed and the service requirement criteria defined by each coastal municipality starting from the different risk levels» explained the mayor Andrea Abis. «Rescue at sea should be planned not only as a civil protection intervention tool but also as an integral and qualifying part of the planning of tourist services of the Municipalities of Sardinia. As far as we are concerned, not having stations supported by private concessions, the financial resources of the regional contribution should be at least quadrupled" clarifies Abis.

There are several proposals put forward during this morning's work table, which the municipal administration intends to launch already during the 2024 season, in synergy with the Marine Protected Area. On the proposal of Corrado Sorrentino, the Amp will immediately experiment with the creation of a lifeline, i.e. the installation of a handhold line mounted on floats and ballast which could become extremely useful in the event of drift on the currents by of the bather.
«I thank the Administration and the Marine Protected Area for this recognition and I believe that the collaboration between the Municipality and the Harbor Office is fundamental, together with the implementation of prudent behavior by the population who frequents the beaches, especially during sea storms. For my part, I am at your complete disposal and I believe that the interaction between the parties will be able to produce an excellent result" said Corrado Sorrentino.
