Following the botulism poisoning at the Fiesta Latina in Monserrato at the end of July, which caused the death of Roberta Pitzalis and the hospitalization of seven other people, the investigation is expanding beyond the borders of Sardinia.

Acting on instructions from the Cagliari Public Prosecutor's Office, the NAS Carabinieri of Turin searched a warehouse at the entrance to Vigone, a municipality in the Turin area where the association that organized the food event where the contaminated guacamole was consumed is based.

The Anti-Adulteration Unit found several irregularities in the storage of food and beverages. They seized packages of rice, tomato paste, flour, and bottles of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages worth approximately €30,000.

According to investigators, the food was allegedly stored in unsuitable locations, in the courtyard and on board a truck, exposed to the sun and high temperatures. For this reason, the association's legal representative, Cristian Gustavo Vincenti, already charged with manslaughter after the thirty-eight-year-old's death, has been charged.
