While administratively, Bassacutena is a hamlet of Tempio Pausania, religiously, for over a century it has been a separate parish, dedicated to Saint Peter the Apostle. This year's celebration of the patron saint's day was celebrated with the participation of the Bishop of Tempio-Ampurias, Monsignor Roberto Fornaciari, invited by the parish priest, Don Roberto Aversano. During the celebration, the bishop recalled the central role of Saints Peter and Paul in the life of the Church: Peter, in particular, was the first to profess faith in Christ. Hence, the invitation extended to the faithful of the hamlet, and to the people of Gallura more generally, to be "witnesses of Jesus Christ," as the apostle was.

This year's patronal festival, organized by Fidali 66-76-86-96, presided over by Maria Scoglia, opened on Saturday, June 27th with Mass followed by the traditional "Caracolu di li banderi" (carrying of the bands) for the surrounding villages and countryside. Sunday, June 28th was also dedicated to children, with games and entertainment in the Piazza della Carità, including races, team games, traditional activities, and socializing.

In the afternoon, the evening Mass, presided over by Monsignor Fornaciari and accompanied by the Loiri Choir, was one of the highlights of the religious program. After the celebration, there was still time for the "Caracolu di li banderi" (the band procession) around the church, accompanied by the choir's songs. The celebration continued in the evening with the musical show "Poker 4 assi della musica italiana," a tribute to great singer-songwriters, and a performance by Carlo Addis and his band.

Today, Monday, June 29th, the feast of St. Peter, the community celebrates another solemn Mass, sung by the "Nostra Signora di Luogosanto" choir, followed by a procession through the town streets with the "Città di Tempio" band, knights, folk groups, and the faithful. In the evening, an '80s and '90s show with Lorenzo Fragola acoustic and the passing of the flag to the incoming Fidali.
