"The emotion - explains the head of the Educational Area of the prison Ilenia Troffa - is that of participating in an event that unites this prison community with the external one".

The event took place, interspersed with various interventions, such as that of the mayor Giuseppe Mascia. «For us - the mayor declared - it is time to shine a light on that perimeter that we call community, on the people who have made mistakes, on those who have the possibility of thinking about their own redemption». It was also an opportunity to remember Patrizia Incollu , former director of the prison and among the promoters, several years ago, of the Candeliere dei principi, who died a few months ago in a car accident. The municipal administration has decided to dedicate the evening of the Candeliere d'oro to her, which will see another fundamental figure of the structure, the chaplain Don Gaetano Galia, awarded with the highest recognition.

"During the year - the priest says - there are no other moments like these. The problem, however, is not this or other prisons but a national culture that does not take into consideration the needs of people's rights". Among those present were also the archbishop of Sassari, Monsignor Gianfranco Saba, and the father guardian of Santa Maria who declared the Vote dissolved.
