The new mayor of Capoterra, the only center over 15 thousand inhabitants that had to resort to the ballot in this administrative round in Sardinia, will be elected today.
You can vote from 7 am until 3 pm: the candidates are Beniamino Piga (at the head of six center-left civic lists) and Beniamino Garau (supported by Psd'Az, Lega, Sardegna 20Venti and two civic lists close to the center-right).
The turnout yesterday was low: 31.99%. In the first round on Sunday it was 41.79% (20,588 capoterresi entitled to vote). It is likely that the downward trend will also be confirmed at the definitive closing of the polls.
After 3 pm we start with the scrutiny of the ballots, then the verdict.
