New assault against a prison police officer .

It happened in the Badu 'e Carros prison , in Nuoro , where a prisoner suffering from serious psychiatric problems – leaving his cell for a phone call – went into a rage, destroying all the objects present in his allocation section.

The officer on duty tried to stop him , then sustaining physical damage due to the prisoner's violent reaction. The unions Sappe, Sinappe, Osapp, UilPa, Uspp, Cisl and Cgil denounced the incident in a joint statement.

«The situation is now out of control , the troublesome prisoners, despite the various requests for removal, remain in the institute and the sections have now become a powder keg. On May 12, 2023 we will take to the streets to protest against the inaction of the Administration, incapable of any intervention, and at the same time we asked for a very urgent summons from the Prefect of the city of Nuoro".

The situation in the prisons "endangers the safety of the workers and the safety of the Institute", continue the unions, according to whom "a serious risk has also been created for public safety ". Without immediate and concrete interventions it is not difficult to hypothesize other serious tragic episodes , politics and institutions intervene immediately before it is too late".
