Salvatore Becciu, the 26-year-old farmer accused of shooting 55-year-old Antonello Regaglia on Sunday evening , was stopped and arrested during the night . Regaglia was hit by gunshots in the chest while he was driving to his farm in Pattada, in the Sassari area.

According to the Ozieri Carabinieri investigation, the young man had argued with the victim several times in recent months. According to the investigators' reconstruction, Becciu allegedly shot Regaglia from an SUV. The suspect also assisted in the recovery of the weapon, indicating the location where he had hidden it.

The attack victim, who underwent surgery, remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit at the Santissima Annunziata Hospital in Sassari. Becciu will appear before the Sassari investigating judge in the coming days. He is being represented by lawyers Marco Palmieri and Salvatore Porcu.
