San Germano , the company that manages the waste collection service in 27 towns on the island and which has recently been the target of attacks in several municipalities, Orgosolo, Iglesias and Fonni, will continue its operations in the three Barbagia consortium centres: Fonni, Orgosolo and Oliena.

The confirmation occurred during a meeting of the conference of mayors of the three countries which was attended by the company's top management, as well as the workforce.

The mayors, Pasquale Mereu, Daniela Falconi and Bastiano Congiu, reiterated their full solidarity with the company and the workers , condemning what happened.

San Gennaro has announced its willingness to continue the service , honoring the contract signed two years ago.

Last week in Orgosolo 8 compactors were destroyed by fire and a few days before there was also an attempted fire in the Fonni warehouse. A month ago in Oliena a company vehicle was stolen .
