The ASL of Sassari responds to the accusations of the Region. The Health Department has strongly contested the appointments made by the Company on March 10 and 20, noting "a strong contrast with the contents of the regional law on the reorganization of Health" and asking for exhaustive explanations from the general director of the ASL Flavio Sensi. "It is absolutely not true - the Company responds with a press release - that the ASL of Sassari has undertaken a political challenge against the Regional Council". Then it justifies the appointments: "These are positions that have been present in the Company for years but on a temporary basis which, if repeated beyond the time strictly necessary for the conclusion of the ordinary procedures, would have violated the contractual obligations set out in the National Collective Labor Agreements, valid for management in public health companies. Therefore, the measure adopted was necessary to regularize the existing positions".

With the action of the ASL, according to Sensi, started over eight months ago "the aim was to regularize the contractual and legal obligations, but it is necessary to specify that these are distinct roles and totally independent from direct or indirect political activities also of the appointed professionals". The directives issued by the department, continues the DG, "have been applied and foreseen in the resolution concluding the long procedure for assigning the roles and shared with the same department through constant discussions, including today, and the acts and contracts of the Department directors of the ASL n. 1 fully implement the directions given by the health councilor and are fully compliant with regional law n. 8 of March 11, 2025 which refers to possible future changes to the company acts which, if they were to lead to a reduction in the number of departments or even a change in their type, will lead to a consequent redefinition of the roles with new employment contracts, without any constraint or obligation of the Company towards those who were previously appointed as Department director. The recent regional law n. 8 of 2025, moreover, certainly provides for an increase in the number of personnel and care facilities headed by the ASL and its hospital departments as it assigns the personnel and services of the Company Hospital of Sassari present today in Sassari».

Finally, given the request for clarification from the Region, Sensi has "decided to suspend the effects of the resolution in compliance with the additional checks requested yesterday by the assessor and the time necessary for their conclusion".
