Seven more days in the company of what meteorologists have nicknamed Charon: despite the alert for scattered thunderstorms on Wednesday, at least until the beginning of September the thermometer will still rise in many areas of Italy above 35-37 degrees with peaks of 39 degrees, especially in Sardinia and Puglia.
Confirming the new forceful expansion of the anticyclone with African heat expected for another 7 days is Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of the site IlMeteo.it: «In the next few hours, however, there will be no shortage of thunderstorms, even strong ones on the central-southern Apennines and on the Lower Tyrrhenian Sea: in the morning the first phenomena are expected between Sicily and Calabria, in the afternoon on the entire Apennine ridge and surrounding areas, with the most powerful showers in Sicily and on the Campanian Apennines. Temperatures, despite these showers, will rise up to 36°C in Caserta, Taranto and Terni, while they will “stop” at 35°C in Benevento, Florence, Lecce and Rome».
