The “armored” holidays in Alghero continue for the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella , who is spending a period of absolute relaxation in the Air Force guesthouse where he is staying, inside the Porto Conte Park.

It is his third release of which we have news, always to go to mass. Once again he has chosen a suburban parish, that of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Santa Maria la Palma , a village in the Catalan city far from the streets of the center which are besieged by tourists.

It is the second consecutive year that Mattarella has chosen Alghero, but this time the Head of State has kept a very low profile , making himself known only for participating in three masses, two on Sundays and one for the Assumption of Mary on August 15. And all in "isolated" parishes.

In 2021, however, the President had also allowed himself a crowd bath in the city by going to meet the mayor, he had temporarily interrupted his holidays for an inspection by helicopter on the areas of Oristano affected by the maxi fire at the end of July and for a greeting to the Palinuro training ship which together with the Vespucci were at anchor in the waters of the protected marine area of Capo Caccia-Isola Piana.

His vacation, according to rumors, should continue until Thursday 25 August.
