Alghero dedicates two spaces to Pino Multineddu and Luciano Musu, the artists of popular culture

The Municipality of Alghero will name two spaces after two people who contributed to the spread of Alghero's popular culture. They are Pino Multineddu and Luciano Musu .
A space adjacent to Piazza Santa Croce will be named after Pino Multineddu "Lo pescador a una ma". The square - parking lot in front of the tennis club will be dedicated to Luciano Musu, and to Maria Pia. "Two dutiful acknowledgements, which come from the work of the previous Toponymy Commission, to people who have given a lot to Alghero's song, and to popular culture, albeit with different tones and different stages, but always with love towards the city of Alghero", comments the president of the City Council and the Toponymy Commission, Beniamino Pirisi.
Luciano Musu has distinguished himself for his artistic career singing in national, European and American theaters, interpreting various operas, collaborating for several years with Rai and performing at the Rai headquarters of Radio Cagliari. From 1970 to 1974 he was president of the G. Verdi Musical Institute, a period in which he organized the event "L'Estate Musicale Internazionale Algherese", which still continues today. His activity in the Alghero song was fruitful, where he distinguished himself for his vocal skills and his interpretations. In 1992 he received the "Premio Dalerci" for the Alghero song.
Pino Multineddu began his career in the world of music in the post-war period and in those years presented the Campanile D'Oro, together with Pasqual Gallo. In the following years he consolidated his popularity and collaborated with the Azienda Autonoma di Soggiorno. He became known throughout Sardinia with participation in various events. He recorded records and participated in various editions of the Alghero Song Festival and in many events dedicated to Alghero music. In 1974 he wrote the autobiographical song “Lo pescador a una ma” which was recorded in the same year in a 45 rpm that will remain in the history of Alghero song. In 1986 he published the album “Somni de anys verds” and in 1990 the album “Profume de Mimosa”.
