Via Roma is free. At least the recently redeveloped stretch, between Piazza Ingrao and Via dei Mille .

After 675 days , and at least a year's delay compared to the initially expected end of the works , at 7.30 sharp this morning the Municipality of Cagliari began to dismantle the construction site.

Now (from Monday) the construction site officially moves to the second section, the one that goes from via Mille to Largo . Then the judgment on Stefano Boeri's project to bring the city closer to the sea, wanted by the previous administration, will pass into the hands of the people of Cagliari. Who already this morning, walking under the porticoes, were divided between those in favor and those against .

The doubts are linked to a carriageway narrowed to a single lane (which will welcome cars back only after the end of the works on the second part) and to the “horizontal forest” , the famous green promenade with trees, benches, and a fitness area , which was in the project and which still has to take shape.
Traffic - With the reopening of Via Roma, only residents of the Marina, business owners and those who need to carry out loading and unloading operations will be authorized to enter with cars . The same goes for the parking lots that have been marked out: they will be available only to residents.
