It's no ordinary place. Punta Molentis, devastated yesterday by a fire ( NEWS ), is a special place with its turquoise sea that gradually fades to a clearer depth until it kisses a strip of fine sand.

A beach with "like-grabbing" colors, listed every summer by influencers and TikTok users as a must-see at least once in a lifetime. The Municipality of Villasimius knows this well and introduced extraordinary measures to protect it back in the summer of 2019.

As part of a €400,000 project (55 percent financed by the 2014-2020 Regional Operational Programmes and 45 percent by It Euromedia and the University of Cagliari, Department of Electronic Engineering), an extraordinary plan for the marine area, including Punta Molentis, was developed.

Six years ago, due to a storm surge, the beach had shrunk to the point of allowing only about 300 people to enter. Over the years, however, the sand had regained its space, and the municipal administration has gradually increased the number of daily admissions that can be booked through the official website.
