Cleanup operations are underway on the land devastated by the massive fire that raged for several hours in the countryside of Sestu, bordering Settimo and Soleminis. Several locations are affected.

The fire attacked several hectares of scrubland, reeds, a vineyard, and tall trees, including olive trees, and even invaded the courtyard of a house.

The fire department, with several teams, forestry workers, GAUF, volunteers from Maasise, Nos, and "Il Maestrale" of Monserrato, responded to the scene. The local police of Sestu were also on site. The fire was contained and extinguished after several hours.

Cleanup operations are underway. The damage is severe. Among the hardest-hit areas are Sa Mandara and Riu Durci. The Forestry Department is also launching an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and any potential responsibilities.
