Six characters for the same island, as big as the protagonists that Abi d'Oru has decided to celebrate this year with the initiative “To the sea with” .
“Those who come to Sardinia love the sea above all, but Sardinia is not only this ”, explains Diana Zuncheddu , managing director of the 5-star hotel in Porto Rotondo overlooking the Gulf of Marinella .
“With this project we want to instill in the many guests who choose us every year the seed of curiosity for names that have marked Sardinian but also Italian history and art . 'Al mare con' is an invitation to dive into Antonio Gramsci 's stories, read his books in the room, or discover Edina Altara and her light and colorful features ”.
In addition to the politician and philosopher from Ales and the designer from Sassari, the Abi d'Oru suite collection also celebrates the Nuorese Nobel Prize-winning writer Grazia Deledda , the judge Eleonora d'Arborea , the artist Maria Lai , a native of Ulassai, and Eva Mameli , mother of Italo Calvino and the first woman in Italy to teach botany at the University.
For each of them, a guided tour has also been created to discover the traces left on the island: you start from the hotel to visit their places in a day, the villages of Ulassai, Ghilarza and Castelsardo but also Cagliari, Sassari and Nuoro .
The tours, which will cover the whole summer season , include visits to museum houses, nuraghi and sacred wells, botanical gardens and domus de janas.
