The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place tomorrow in Quartu for the 41st edition of Sciampitta, the international folklore festival organized by the Città di Quarto group. The participating groups will be presented on the stage in Piazza Dessì at 9:00 PM. These include those from Portugal, Argentina, Peru, Friuli, and all the Sardinian groups. On Saturday, at 7:00 PM, there will be a Mass of the Peoples in the Basilica of Sant'Elena, followed by a ceremony at the war memorial and a parade through the city streets. The festival will arrive in Piazza Mercato, where the official opening ceremony will take place at 9:15 PM. The participating groups will be joined by the drummers and trumpeters of sa Sartiglia di Oristano, Sotziu Tenore Murales Orgosolo, and the Cuncordia a Luneddas cultural association.

"It's an honor for us to come to Sardinia for the 41st edition of Sciampitta," says Juan Robero Maica, director of the Ballet Argentino Calden Gaucho. "We carry the Pampas in our hearts and are ready to share our energy with the Quartu audience." Amabelio Pereira of the Faro Portugal Folklorico group adds, "Sciampitta is a festival that unites people with elegance and authenticity. We are delighted to represent Portugal in this special edition, where tradition and hospitality meet in a unique way."

On Sunday, the festival dedicated to "su cantu a curba" will take place. Sciampitta will continue on Monday the 13th, Tuesday the 14th, and Wednesday the 15th with more performances in the market square and the "Dance of the Peoples" in Sa dom'e Farra, where residents will be able to learn the steps of the participating groups. The festival will conclude on Wednesday the 15th at 9:00 PM in the market square, broadcast live on Videolina. The festival will also have a fall event on September 26th with a book presentation in Sa dom'e Farra. A series of collateral events are linked to Sciampitta. These include the exhibition "La memoria che si indossa, storie e vesti di Quartu" (Memory that is Worn: Stories and Vestments of Quartu), which will be open from Friday the 10th to Sunday the 12th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. On Tuesday, July 14th, the former Capuchin convent on Via Brigata Sassari will host an institutional meeting with delegations and a concert featuring groups from Argentina, Portugal, Peru, and Friuli.
