The entire group of the Sardinian Action Party of the regional council of Sardinia officially joins Forza Italia. These are the councilors Gianni Chessa, Piero Maieli and Alfonso Marras.
A press release from the blue party announced it.
To explain the reasons and political rationales of the decision, a press conference has been called for Monday morning, chaired by the national coordinator and deputy prime minister Antonio Tajani. The meeting will also be attended by the regional secretary of Sardinia, Pietro Pittalis, and the group leaders of the Senate and Chamber, Maurizio Gasparri and Paolo Barelli.
With the entry of Chessa, Maieli and Marras into FI, the Psd'Az is left without any more representatives in the regional assembly.
On the other hand, a note from the Azzurri underlines, «Forza Italia continues to grow and to gain the trust of citizens and voters, thanks to the competence and concreteness of its actions at a national level and on the territory».
