A shower of medals at the European Swimming Championships in Paris. After Benedetta Pillato's silver medal in the 50-meter breaststroke, Simona Quadarella also won the gold medal in the 400-meter freestyle, finishing with a time of 4:01.34.
Italy then won the silver medal in the men's and women's 4x100 medley relay. Thomas Ceccon, Nicolo Martinenghi, Alberto Razzetti, and Carlos D'Ambrosio finished second in 3:28.86, behind only Russia, while France took bronze. Sara Curtis, Benedetta Pilato, Anita Gastaldi, and Emma Virginia Menicucci finished second in 3:53.60, behind Great Britain, who outclassed the Italians in the final meters.
