“I am not surprised by the tourist boom in Sardinia , we are talking about a magnificent land. The tourism sector has suffered a major setback due to the pandemic but it is a crucial sector for the economy of the country and the region ”.

Andrea Orcel , CEO of UniCredit, will be on the island tomorrow to prepare for the signing of an important development agreement for Sardinian companies.

In an exclusive interview with the Unione Sarda, he talks about the terms of the agreement and how the institute he leads will help Sardinian families to cope with the rises and exorbitant costs of energy . In particular, Orcel considers certain economic sectors, including agri-food, to be crucial for the growth of the island.

“Fostering the relationship between the agricultural and territorial tourism supply chains can generate economic value and new opportunities for tourist incoming. We strongly believe in UniCredit and for this reason we have recently relaunched 'Made4Italy' by allocating a new ceiling of 5 billion euros for tourism and agriculture companies ”, added Orcel.
