Five years after the closure of the Olmedo bauxite mine, the 26 workers who were employed in the field could find themselves next November 30 without a contract and without a future.

Since 2015 they have struggled relentlessly to reclaim prospects and relocation, but without success.
For this reason the workers, currently Igea employees , proclaimed yet another state of agitation.

They ask for the opening of an urgent table in the Region in order to "find a shared path aimed at the continuation of the employment relationship", say the miners, supported by the Ugl Sardegna union.

In recent months, during a meeting between trade unions and the Region, the possibility of re-employing workers in maintenance activities was hypothesized, but no official decision has ever been made in this regard.
