A Sunday hunting trip in Oliena ends in tragedy. A 58-year-old farmer, Andrea Puddu, was accidentally shot by a friend and died instantly. Hit by a bullet, he collapsed to the ground, showing no signs of life.

Friends immediately raised the alarm, calling 118 and the Carabinieri, but by the time help arrived, there was nothing more that could be done. 71-year-old Giovanni Puligheddu has been booked as a suspect in the farmer's death for manslaughter.

The tragedy occurred yesterday, around 4:30 p.m., as the hunting trip was drawing to a close. Puddu and his friends were in the reserve located in the countryside of Sa Serra, at the crossroads with Jumpadu , a town where state road 129 and provincial road 18 intersect.

Suddenly, a shot from the friend's rifle erroneously hits Andrea Puddu, leaving him no chance of escape. The situation is extremely serious. A friend, in a desperate voice, immediately calls for help. Meanwhile, everyone gathers around Andrea Puddu's body, which, however, shows no signs of life. An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
