A one-off contribution of 200 euros for employees and retirees up to 35 thousand euros of income. It is one of the interventions envisaged by the aid decree and announced at a press conference by Prime Minister Mario Draghi .

"Today's measures - said the prime minister - address the cost of living, the acceleration of prices depends to a very large extent on energy prices, and this means that it is a temporary situation that must be addressed with exceptional tools. ".

The decree, for which 14 billion has been allocated, "extends to many areas: we approve liberalizations, reforms in the renewable energy sector that allow us to accelerate the ecological transition, to make that step in investments in renewables, which will help make us more independent of Russian gas ".

The plan for independence from Russian gas "can be made public when it is ready in all the details, in a very, very short time".

The decree also includes the extension of the cut in excise duties on petrol to 8 July and the extension of the same to methane.

On the current economic situation, the premier preaches optimism: “ It is not a recession, but a slowdown . Already today there are data showing that 800 thousand more people were employed in March than a year ago, they are positive data because there are signs of a recovery in permanent employment ".

"For another two months the cut in excise duties is guaranteed as well as interventions for the poor and on the tax credit are guaranteed, there is a fund for companies that have suffered the damage of the war , there are refreshments for local authorities and the cost of raw materials is alleviated to keep construction sites open . All this is financed with the levels of indebtedness of last year and using the taxes on extra profits ”, summarizes Draghi .

The 200 euro bonus, which concerns 28 million Italians and for which six billion have been allocated , according to the Minister for the Economy Daniele Franco , is financed "by the increase in the extraordinary levy on energy importing and producing companies that they made extra profits thanks to energy prices.

The ways in which the bonus will be paid: “As far as retirees are concerned, there is not much difficulty in understanding. For employees, it will be paid by the employers who, however, will recover this sum at the first possible tax payment . It is not that the employers anticipate the contribution and then do not review it for a year, it is restored at the first tax payment ”, explained Draghi.

From a political point of view there is the tear of the M5S ministers , who did not participate in the dissenting vote on the rules for waste in Rome which give extraordinary powers to the commissioner for the Jubilee with the possibility of building the waste-to-energy plant. "I hope it does not have particular consequences that translate into fibrillation, it is a disagreement that we hope to overcome in some way", said the prime minister.
