The prices of the free market of electricity fly on an annual basis, on a monthly basis, on the other hand, the record increase is due to gas, always on the free market. Instead, more contained increases on the protected market.

The National Consumers Union has processed Istat data on October inflation, which rose to + 11.9% on an annual basis , a record increase since March 1984.

To weigh on the pockets of Italian families is primarily the energy sector. The electricity of the free market quadruples compared to October 2021 with an incredible + 329% , while the light of the protected market increases “only” by 91.5%. Considering the increases on a monthly basis, the record belongs to the free gas market, + 63.9% compared to the previous month , while the price on the protected market remains substantially intact.

THE ANNUAL INCREASES

To weigh on the wallets of Italians are not only the bills. In the ranking of annual increases in second place, behind electricity, are international flights , which fly - it should be said - at + 113.2%. Prices more than doubled.

THE MONTHLY INCREASES

In the top ten of monthly increases, as mentioned, gas on the free market (+ 63.9%) leads the way, ahead of the light, still free market, with + 62.7%. Third place for electricity in the protected market, + 51.9%. Then sugar + 14.5%, fresh vegetables which increased by 8.2% in one month. Among foodstuffs, preserved milk is also worthy of note, + 3.9% on a monthly basis.

A BUN FOR FAMILIES

“Inflation - says the president of the National Consumers Union Massimiliano Dona - accelerates exponentially. The increase of 3.5% on a monthly basis means a sting per family equal to an average of 975 euros on an annual basis , 107 for food and drinks, 874 for home, electricity and fuel ". And it is even worse if we consider the trend inflation, equal to + 11.9%, which “raises the annual blow to 3,324 euros on average per family”.
