Nainggolan: "I said no to Napoli out of respect for the Cagliari fans"

“I've always felt at home in Cagliari ”.
Word of Radja Nainggolan , who gave an interview to Fanpage, revealing many backstories of his long career, which - after the Italian years - is continuing in Belgium, in Antwerp , his hometown, even if, he himself admits, "the I miss everyday life in Italy , also because I grew up there and became a man ".
The former rossoblù did not speak only of his experience in Sardinia, but - also and above all - of the times of Roma , which, as on other occasions, he did not hide were the most significant moments of his career.
"In Rome there was the brightest light . That's where I felt the strongest emotions. On a human level it was hard to leave because I was very fond of the square. In life, choices have to be made, even if with hindsight I think it was the wrong choice because I had built a great relationship with Rome ”.
Radja also revealed why, when - in 2014 - there was a sort of challenge between Naples and Rome to grab his card, in the end he chose the capital: “Not for an economic question. Both Naples and Rome are two beautiful squares, they are the most important in terms of support in Italy. But I thought it was more right to go to Roma out of respect for the Cagliari fans ”.
The Belgian player then told which, in his opinion, were the most beautiful goals scored in his career. And even in this case the memory returns to Sardinia: "My best goal was the one against Wales at Euro 2016. That was a good goal because I kicked first, but I also have in my heart the one I scored against Cagliari. to Spal : it was a more difficult execution, because it was a counterbalance ”.
“I had an important career - the final balance of the midfielder - but on a human level I have always lived as a normal person . Some may seem arrogant and others honest, while some may like me and others may be on the cusp for the money I've earned, because I like nice cars and nice clothes. But unfortunately - concludes Radja - many limit themselves to appearances ”.
