This is the new expiry date of Zito Luvumbo's contract, after Cagliari today exercised the option right for the extension, provided for in the previous agreement that was in force until 2027. "There are 93 total appearances in rossoblù so far: Cagliari and Zito, present and future to be written together", the message from the club.
An extra year on his contract therefore for the Angolan striker , signed in September 2020 and a permanent fixture with the first team from 2022-2023, after six months on loan at Como in 2021 and part of the season as a protagonist with the Primavera in 2022. Cagliari, as has already happened previously, has a further option in his favor to extend his contract until 30 June 2029 .
Luvumbo ended his 2024 with an injury on December 14 against Atalanta , a sprained ankle that kept him out against Juventus in the Coppa Italia, Venezia and Inter in Serie A. After Saturday's match, Davide Nicola stated that he will not even recover for the relegation clash with Monza that will open the new year, Sunday January 5 at 12:30. The goal is to have him available on January 11 at the Meazza, against Milan.
