After Parma, Davide Nicola repeats himself in Juventus-Cagliari: a point is worth a lot, for the draw in the 88th minute after a match in which the rossoblù played until the end . «I put all my players on equal terms: they were all good, even those who came on», the coach's compliments to the entire team.
"From the point of view of the match we managed to take points with three different scores: today it was a situation where, with Juventus having an important technical figure, at the beginning we wanted to use an intelligent ball possession that progressed in verticalizations to get to the area". Nicola explains the tactical choices during the match: "We changed between the first and second half a climb that I didn't like too much, on Cambiaso's movement, because it forced us to go to man. So we kept more balance and in the second half the team expressed itself well".
One step away. Nicola also has to take away a recrimination, for Obert's post: «It would have been exceptional to score at that moment, because time was running out». On the penalty, however, he is not at all convinced: «I never judge the work. But from a technical point of view, I am never convinced by the choice to award a penalty of that kind: if I go to challenge Gatti or Vlahovic in an aerial duel, it is obvious that I use my hands to give myself a boost. But if I receive a tackle on the shoulders, making me fall backwards, I cannot forget that I have two hands on my neck. I do not agree with this and I believe that many colleagues are of this opinion, then you always accept the referee's decision. It is not a foul by Gatti on the player's take-off, but you cannot award a penalty either: it is impossible, falling, to award a penalty if I suffer physical contact from behind in the aerial duel that makes me fall backwards».
In closing, Nicola evaluates what this draw leaves: «It allows us to go up from five to six points, getting closer to our goal which is safety. Doing so means progressing, in the Cagliari environment we must be happy and evaluate it as a micro episode, because it is not one match that makes the objective but the sum of several matches. We must cultivate the enthusiasm in playing a certain type of game».
