Woman dead in Merano, partner under investigation for murder

Alexander Gruber, companion of Sigrid Groeber , the 39-year-old who died on Saturday night shortly after her hospitalization in Merano (Bolzano) was entered in the register of suspects on charges of voluntary homicide .
The woman had arrived yesterday at the emergency room with very serious multiple injuries . Her partner, the 55-year-old caretaker of the Kaiserhof hotel school in Merano, had raised the alarm, declaring that she had fallen down the stairs. However, the doctors immediately raised doubts about the accidental origin of the injuries and informed the carabinieri.
The autopsy, which will be performed tomorrow, should bring clarity. Gruber is currently under observation in the psychiatry ward.
