Two separate rescue operations are underway in the Ionian Sea, between Calabria and Sicily by the Italian authorities after the identification of two boats with several hundred migrants on board.
The first aid concerns a boat reported by Alarm Phone, where there would be about 400 migrants: the Dattilo ship of the Coast Guard on site.
The second intervention, by the Peluso ship and three Coast Guard patrol boats, instead concerns a fishing boat on which there would be between 600 and a thousand people.
