The owner of the dogs who, on 26 August last, attacked and killed a 20 -year-old, Simona Cavallaro, was arrested while she was in the company of a friend in an area equipped for picnics in Monte Fiorino di Satriano, in the Catanzaro area.

A 45-year-old shepherd, owner of a livestock farm for sheep and goats, ended up under house arrest. The precautionary custody order, carried out by the carabinieri of the Soverato Company, was issued by the investigating judge at the request of the Catanzaro prosecutor.

The man is under investigation for manslaughter. The animals, according to the accusation, were placed to protect a flock.

THE TRAGEDY - The twenty-year-old from Soverato was with a friend that day when a pack of dogs, between Maremma and mestizos, attacked them from behind.

The boy managed to escape by taking refuge in a nearby shed, while while she was running away she was grabbed by the legs. He tried to defend himself from the fury of the animals with all his might, but it was useless.
