The former Juventus and national team goalkeeper suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on 23 April 2022 during a charity event. In March 2023 he left the hospital in Alessandria and was entrusted for recovery to the Don Gnocchi institute in Milan.
Since last June 21st Tacconi had been transferred to the Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza in San Giovanni Rotondo.
