The Milan Public Prosecutor's Office, headed by Marcello Viola, has requested that the Carabiniere, who was driving the pursuing car, be sent to trial for vehicular homicide with "culpable excess in the performance of duty" in the case of the death of 19-year-old Ramy Elgaml on November 24, 2024, and Fares Bouzidi, who was driving the scooter being chased for 8 km, be sent to trial for complicity in vehicular homicide.

In the investigation by prosecutors Giancarla Serafini and Marco Cirigliano, along with deputy prosecutor Paolo Ielo, six other soldiers have also been requested to go to trial, accused, on various counts, of aiding and abetting, obstructing investigations, and forging false arrest records for Ramy's friend.
