It was not a kidnapping but a staging.
The statements of one of the arrested for the alleged kidnapping of Patrick Sam Kourosh Demilecamps, the 25-year-old British tourist held hostage in an apartment in the Macerata area and freed with a blitz by the carabinieri, are all to be verified but a new front of investigation opens.
According to the eighteen-year-old Italian Rubens Beliga Gnaga, one of the alleged four torturers ended up in handcuffs, it was "a fiction, a staging". The reason? Obtain from the 25-year-old's family 7 thousand euros, necessary to pay off a debt of the young Englishman. According to what is claimed by Gnaga it would have been Demilecamps himself to engineer the stratagem. Gnaga would have given him a loan of 7,000 euros and the 25-year-old to repay the sum would have proposed to simulate a kidnapping, even having himself photographed with handcuffs on his wrists to convince his parents to pay the ransom.
THE VERSION OF THE VICTIM - A version that would only explain why a relatively low ransom demand. But the victim tells another story: he told the investigators that he was locked up in an apartment in Monte San Giusto (in the availability of Gnaga) for 8 days, abused, left without food and that he had suffered various humiliations. When he was told to ask his parents for money, he managed to make them understand that he was being held against his will. The sos was received, and the family turned to the British NCA (National Crime Agency).
THE BLITZ - From there an international collaboration was triggered with the Carabinieri del Ros and then with the operations department of Macerata and the Monte San Giusto station. The investigations, carried out over a period of 36 hours, led the military to raid the apartment, in via Carducci. Here Demilecamps was found locked in a dark room (with furniture in front of the windows), barefoot, handcuffed and very worn out.
THE OTHER ARRESTED - The investigating judge Giovanni Manzoni has validated the arrests of four young men in flagrante delicto for kidnapping for the purpose of extortion and arranged for all house arrest: with the electronic bracelet for Gnaga, for Dona Conte, 22 years from Guinea, and for the Moroccan Ahmed Rajraji, aged 21; without an electronic bracelet for Aida Carpani, a twenty-one year old from Montegranaro (Fermo), fiancée of Dona Conte. The two boyfriends claimed to be unrelated to the facts, while Rajraji made use of the right not to answer.
All those arrested are cleansed: they had met the young Englishman during the summer.
