Pasquale Concas, the 52-year-old originally from Villagrande Strisaili and residing in Tortolì, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first degree in Modena for the murder of the 56-year-old lawyer Elena Morandi , found lifeless in her home where she had been developed a fire.
The facts date back to 2017, according to what was ascertained by the Police Mobile Squad, Concas would have suffocated her to steal 300 euros and a PC, then set the fire .
Concas, judged with an abbreviated procedure, is already in prison: he had been sentenced to twenty years for another murder , that of the 24-year-old prostitute Arietta Mata , whose body was found just outside the city near the railway tracks. Also in that case the murder was carried out after a robbery.
The man had also made himself known in Sardinia in 1994, he was convicted of the murder of the elderly Loredana Gottardi in Olbia .
This is the comment of his lawyer Marco Pellegrini: «We confronted ourselves with a very complex probative material, convinced of the innocence of our client . We will carefully read the reasons and will propose our arguments to the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Bologna since we still believe that Concas has no responsibility for the death of Elena Morandi".
