"Dominic's death leaves us an important legacy." The State Police said goodbye to agent Domenico Zorzino , 49, who died last Friday in Anguillara , in the Padua area, while trying to save the life of 75-year-old Valerio Buoso , who ended up in the Gorzone canal with his car.

The policeman had managed to extract the elderly man from the vehicle , but both failed: "Continue the work at the service of all of you", reads the post with which the Police greeted Zorzino, "without conditioning and without hesitations. Just like he did, jumping into the icy river to save Valerio , without hesitating. Today we said goodbye to him for the last time, but we are aware that his hand, which still held Valerio tightly, as if to say "I did it", will continue to guide us in our daily lives . He leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of his loved ones, his friends and our colleagues. His smile and will to live will never be forgotten.

Also present at the funeral, celebrated today in Anguillara, were Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and Police Chief Lamberto Giannini . Domenico Zorzino leaves his wife Sabina and their 17-year-old son.
