After a barrage of accusations following the investigation's closure on May 7th, it's now time for a counterattack from Andrea Sempio's defense, the only suspect in the new investigation opened by the Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office into Chiara Poggi's murder.

The six expert opinions requested by lawyers Liborio Cataliotti and Angela Taccia are essentially ready and will be filed early next week, within 20 days of notification of the investigation's conclusion, as required by the code. Speaking on this matter today, lawyer Cataliotti clarified: "For the purposes of filing, we have prepared a brief brief with attached screenshots of the publications, forums, videos, various podcasts, broadcasts, or debates on social media forums from which Andrea drew for those soliloquies or those dialogues, which therefore contained nothing new."

A possible request for questioning is also being considered, given that their client has always maintained his innocence in the disputed facts. Among the consultations, in addition to a personality assessment, are a forensic examination on the cause and timing of death, an anthropometric examination to verify whether the fingerprints match those left by the killer's shoes, and a sound recording of Sempio's soliloquies in the car (a technical audio cleanup operation).

The reports will be accompanied by a defense brief aimed at dismantling the charges. These are all partisan briefs, of course, and their probative value, beyond the likely media coverage they will generate, will ultimately need to be proven at trial. Meanwhile, a dispute erupts between Antonio De Rensis, Alberto Stasi's lawyer, and one of the Cappa twins, Stefania, who has filed a complaint with the Milan Prosecutor's Office for incitement to commit crimes involving defamation and slander.

Interviewed by RAI, De Rensis commented: "After the news of the reopening of the new investigation into Garlasco, today is the best day for me in the last year and a half, the day when finally something will be clear, which everyone can then interpret as they wish; the facts speak for themselves." De Rensis recounted that, when he took over Stasi's defense in July 2022, he received the investigation materials and the CDs containing the wiretaps from Deputy Prosecutor Venditti on behalf of Chief Prosecutor Napoleone. A few hours later, he was called by Stefania Cappa, who proposed some "very prestigious conferences at CONI" at which he was scheduled to speak.

Amid the accusations and counter-accusations, the Sempio family's bitterness also emerges, this time through the laconic comment of his father, Giuseppe: "Andrea is a normal man. If someone recorded my soliloquies in the car..." he told Rai, once again defending his son. Meanwhile, Sempio's mother, Daniela Ferrari, interviewed by Quarto Grado, said: "From how I see things now, I can't honestly tell you, I can't rule it out. I can't say that Stasi is definitely guilty. I hope we finally get to the truth."
