Alessio Battaglia , 40 years old, wanted for the death of Franco Bernardo Bergamin , 80 years old, whose body was found two days ago in two bags inside the closet of a house in Limena, in the Padua area, has been arrested.
The man was tracked down by the Carabinieri of Padua in a house in Monfalcone , in the province of Gorizia. And, according to what has been learned, he has already confessed to being the author of the crime. The man has admitted to having killed the elderly man with his hands during an argument, which then degenerated, and to having hidden the body in the closet.
Battaglia, who lived with the victim and had fled without trace until last night when the military located him in the Gorizia area and handcuffed him, was transferred to the Padua prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
