Earthquake off the Aeolian Islands, magnitude 4.3

An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 was recorded off the Aeolian islands at 3.52 this night.

From the findings of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 5 kilometers about 25 m north-west of Alicudi. This is an area where seismic activity is already known to be relevant.

At the moment no damage to people or property has been reported but further information could arrive in the next few hours.
