Searches in progress, between Milan and Turin, as part of the investigations into the violence perpetrated against at least nine women in Piazza Duomo on New Year's Eve.
According to the police, 18 young people have been identified for the moment, believed to be involved in sexual assaults for various reasons.
According to initial information from the Milan Police Headquarters, these are 15 boys of age and 3 minors, aged between 15 and 21, both foreigners and Italians of North African origin.
VIOLENCE - There are several videos circulating online and showing what happened on the night between December 31st and January 1st, while hundreds of young people were in the heart of Milan, in front of the Duomo, for the arrival of the new year.
At least three distinct episodes in just over an hour: the boys, acting like a pack, surround the victims, women barely of age, and harass them, regardless of their screams and attempts to defend themselves.
The Milan Public Prosecutor's Office, which investigates the hypothesis of a crime of group sexual violence, has managed to identify nine victims for now. There are three attacked in the same moments in which the "pack", at the corner with via Mazzini and around 1.30 am, surrounded a 19 year old (the most serious fact) and her company, which then managed to get out of the help. from a friend. The fourth, however, according to the reconstruction of the investigators, was abused in the streets behind Piazza Duomo together with a peer who was also robbed (her case had already emerged).
There are the two German tourists, who suffered violence shortly after midnight and who told how "suddenly there were dozens of people on us and we didn't understand who was doing what". The findings on the abuses arrived with the analysis of the videos of the surveillance cameras in the area, sifted through these days by the agents of the Milan Mobile Squad, led by Marco Calì, through whom we are now trying to trace the authors of the violence, at least thirty boys. With the investigations it will be necessary to clarify even if it was more distinct groups that hit.
