The brain death of the fifteen-year-old from Vago di Lavagno, in the province of Verona, struck by his mother Alessandra Spiazzi who then committed suicide, has been confirmed.

The father expressed his wish to donate his organs, and authorization for their removal was given.

The wife, who had been undergoing treatment for psychological problems for some time, grabbed a gun and shot her 15-year-old son, leaving him on the brink of death, then turned the gun on herself, killing herself with a single shot to the head.

The boy had arrived at the Borgo Trento hospital in Verona on Friday afternoon in very serious clinical conditions: admitted to the Neurointensive Care Unit directed by Leonardo Gottin, the patient had been diagnosed with irreversible brain damage after two days of maximum support therapy.
