The upcoming season marks the debut of conductor Elisabetta Maschio as the head of the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, which she will conduct in two concerts at the invitation of superintendent Nicola Colabianchi. Interestingly, Elisabetta Maschio was in Sassari as artistic director of the Marialisa de Carolis concert organization from 1995 to 1997. Instead of Nicola Bianchi, the one-act opera "Mandrake" was performed at the Teatro Comunale di Sassari.
The first event is scheduled for Friday, September 4th at the Teatro Comunale Mario del Monaco in Treviso, as part of the city's concert season; the second will be held on Sunday, October 4th at the Teatro Toniolo in Mestre, during the commemoration of Giuseppe Sinopoli, marking the double anniversary of his birth (80th) and death (25th), promoted by the Friends of Music of Mestre.
"Superintendent Nicola Colabianchi of the Teatro La Fenice approached me to entrust me with these two concerts," says Elisabetta Maschio. "I am deeply honored to conduct this orchestra. For me, this represents a particularly exciting debut, also because of the symphonic program that has accompanied my artistic journey since the beginning of my career."
