After 60 years, Barcelona once again hosts the start of the Vuelta for the 2023 edition, with two stages on 26 August and 27 August.

The return to the Catalan capital - where the race finished in 2012 - includes a team time trial of 14.6 km through the streets of the center and the following day the peloton will cover 181.3 km between Mataro and Barcelona, marked by two climbs including the iconic Montjuic hill.

"That La Vuelta returns to Barcelona after 60 years is great news, not only because we will be able to experience a great sporting event, but also because it shows us, once again, the value of sport as an economic engine of the city," said the deputy mayor. of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni.

It will be only the second time in Barcelona that Barcelona will host the official start of Spain's premier stage race and the official race presentation will take place at the Palau de la Musica Catalana on 10 January.
