England beat the Netherlands 2-1 in a photo finish and reached the final of the European Championships in Germany where they will face Spain on Sunday evening . In Dortmund Watkins' goal in the 91st minute decides after the back-and-forth in the first half signed by Simons and Kane on a penalty.
A crackling match from the first minutes. Holland broke the deadlock in the 7th minute with a great goal from Simons , who stole the ball from Rice, reached the limit and unleashed a great shot that ended up under the top corner. England's reaction was immediate: Dumfries knocks Kane down in the area, the VAR calls the referee who awards the penalty. Kane himself made no mistakes from the spot, in the 18th minute it was 1-1 .
Continuous emotions. A save on the Dutch defense line following a great play by Foden who beats everyone (including the goalkeeper) and two woodblocks, one on each side : Dumfries for the Orange team with the header, immediately after Foden who hits the top corner with a shot from outside poles. In the 35th minute the Netherlands already had to give up Depay, injured, in his place with Veerman. Then again Foden, furious, challenges the orange goalkeeper Verbruggen from outside for the last ring of the first 45' .
In a much more closed and tactical second half , Watkins decides in the 91st minute, having come on 10 minutes earlier in Kane's place: following an assist from Palmer, he unloads an unstoppable right-footed shot and sends the English into a frenzy .
